A Hidden Gem …

Do you dream of those little vintage style tea rooms with homemade sweet treats and pretty china teacups? If so, this is for you!

Miss Marple’s Tea Room in Looe, South East Cornwall

Miss Marple’s is a hidden gem situated above its shop below, Cornish Delights, in Looe Fore Street. Not only is the tea room wonderful, Cornish Delights sell just that; Cornish Delights! They have delicious ice cream, Cornish fudge (made by a local Cornish family using the same traditional methods from when they started over 50 years ago) and even a Jelly Belly pick and mix station along with other Cornish goods such as hampers and souvenirs.

Miss Marple’s tea room is a strong recommendation for anybody who appreciates a traditional tea room with delicious offerings, it is also dog friendly which is a huge bonus. Each and every time we visit, the staff are so welcoming and friendly and whatever we choose to indulge in is always delicious. I can personally recommend the coffees, teas, cream teas, locally made soup and hot chocolate (you have a choice of white, milk or dark: such a rare find but so so delicious!). This is a tea room where you can fully relax; no need to worry about wearing your finest tweed for a visit here, it is not pretentious in the slightest and very reasonably priced too!

Any Improvements?

Finding fault with Miss Marple’s is a difficult task, however if I was being pernickety and had to highlight something for improvement, one comment I could make is that on the odd occasion the milk in the coffees is slightly burnt, but never bad enough to have needed to raise the issue. I am definitely clutching at straws for finding an improvement that is for sure!
