I always relish the opportunity for a roadtrip in Cornwall, we spend all of our free time exploring the region because, why wouldn’t you, there’s so much beauty! Plus, one end of Cornwall to the other really isn’t that far.

West Cornwall is beautiful, the rugged coastline and picturesque beaches make it truly unique. In May we had the opportunity to spend a weekend at Dreamcatcher by Petite Weddings which is in Sancreed, between Penzance and St Just.

Dreamcatcher is an exclusive intimate wedding venue but can also be used for holidays too (and it is dog friendly, a real positive for us as we don’t like to exclude Albert from our adventures, he absolutely loves to explore new places!). From the moment we saw the property we knew it would be a very special place to be and that Jane (who also owns Fallen Angel, read my review here) would have applied her strong eye for detail and incredibly unique style to make this place truly amazing. We were not wrong!

On entering this former 19th century chapel through the perfectly maintained gardens, we opened the door to the kitchen and both said, ‘wow’. Think incredible views, stained glass windows tinting the room with their striking colours, incredible interior design and a relaxed but decadent feel. Dreamcatcher has perfected the combination of stunning original features and a stylish industrial vibe with quirky up-cycled details to compliment.

The whole house, which accommodates up to 8, instantly feels like a home away from home, with each and every room carefully created for sumptuous relaxation . There are so many spaces to explore and spend time just watching the world go by or enjoying a good book. Enjoy the warmth from the wood burning in the kitchen diner with a glass of wine and a book whilst your dinner cooks, get lost in the extensive private library overflowing with natural sunlight and tinted rays created by the beautiful colours in the stained glass windows, or hide away in the lavish drawing room and enjoy a good film snuggled up with a roaring fire, cosy blankets and a hot chocolate.

The grounds are magical, as soon as you enter Dreamcatcher you feel as though you have escaped the rest of the world. Surrounded by beautiful countryside views wherever you look and the sea in the distance, spend time outdoors exploring the magnificent gardens; plants basking in the sunshine, hidden hideaways and a surprise summerhouse await you. Alfresco dining is just a must, there really is no better picnic spot than this secluded sanctuary.

If you feel the need to venture out you have some of the best beaches in the world on your doorstep; Porthcurno, Lamorna Cove, Pedn Vounder, Porthchapel, the list of places to explore really is endless! Don’t forget the Minack Theatre too; take a tour around the grounds and enjoy an afternoon tea from the cafe whilst soaking up the most amazing view. Another must visit is Polgoon Vineyard & Orchard for some delicious local treats.

I’m going to share some exclusive information with you; Dreamcatcher is actually available to become someone else’s dream. I’m reluctant to share this information as I am still in denial that it’s not going to become mine (even though that would mean relocating to the other end of Cornwall and all sorts of logistical problems to solve for us  but I said one end of Cornwall to the other really isn’t far though didn’t I?), it is a truly spectacular place, one which is so unique you really do have to experience it yourself to feel the freeing aura of the space which inspires you to relax, create and energise. For me, it was like spending a weekend in a spa, I came home feeling invigorated, inspired and with a clear mind motivated for the week ahead. I really did feel like I could live in Dreamcatcher forever and spend my days painting and doing yoga, there is this atmosphere that if we could bottle up and apply to our everyday … wow, what could be achieved! Petite Weddings, thank you for having us, you really do have an incredible talent in creating the most special spaces for others to share and experience. If you want to get married, have a honeymoon, mini-moon or just stay somewhere special look no further than Jane.

Albert definitely agreed that Dreamcatcher was the best staycation!
